Veterans Views and News TV Program

        The Veterans Views & News television show started as a VISN 18 communications project in 1999.  Our primary goal is to provide important information to veterans and their families on VA healthcare, VA benefits and National Cemetery.

       The television show has seen remarkable growth and is now viewed in thirty-one markets and two active duty military bases throughout West Texas, New Mexico and Arizona.

         Guests have included the Honorable Anthony J. Principi, former Secretary of Veterans Affairs, and former Under Secretary for Health, Dr. Thomas Garthwaite and former Under Secretary for Benefits, Nora Egan, just to name a few. The television show has received considerable positive feedback and twice has been voted the Best Talk/Interview Program for Northern Arizona cable access by the Channel 13 Board of Directors and in 2004, was voted the Outstanding TV Series of the Year. Another goal of the broadcast is to promote volunteer opportunities at VA medical facilities and public service announcements promoting volunteerism are shown during the broadcast .
